The right diagnosis comes first.
Every ache has an address. Finding it is the first appointment.
Our approach
Pain rarely announces its source. A nerve root under pressure, a joint that stopped moving the way it should, a signal that stayed switched on after the tissue settled down. Each one changes what treatment is appropriate. Once the problem has a name, the rest follows: restore the motion, free the tissue, retrain the movement, build the strength. Your first visit ends with a diagnosis and a next step: treatment here, a referral out, or care shared with a physician already involved.
Most people think chiropractic means backs and necks. This practice treats joints. Shoulders, hips, knees, elbows, wrists, ankles, feet. Non-surgical care that restores the motion a joint has lost, then builds the strength to keep it.
Joints do not work alone. A knee that hurts on stairs may come from a hip that has stopped rotating. Treating only the painful spot is often why the problem comes back.

Your first visit
How care starts
A first visit is a workup. History, examination, and treatment the same day when the findings support it. You leave with a working diagnosis, including what has been ruled out, and a next step.
How care progresses
Care is provided one visit at a time. What happens at a visit is a clinical decision that changes over time as you change. Cost is discussed before services are provided. Insurance and self-pay are both accepted.
How care ends
The goal is that you manage this yourself. Motion restored, strength rebuilt, and a home program you know how to run. Patients who would rather not be adjusted are welcome, and any technique can be declined.
Meet the Doctor
Gavin Spennewyn, DC
Dr. Spennewyn earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2019. He then spent three years of additional hands-on training at the Institute for Orthopedics & Chiropractic, expanding his focus from the spine to every joint in the body.
His evidence-based, non-surgical approach is grounded in mechanics: identify what is driving the symptoms, restore lost joint motion, treat overloaded tissues, and rebuild strength through the movement that failed. Success is measured not by pain relief alone, but by whether patients can return to what they were unable to do.
Referral and shared care with physicians are routine when the condition or response to treatment calls for it.
